What is hypnosis?

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is the use of the hypnotic state to solve problems. Hypnotherapy enables you to change habits, reduce stress and achieve your goals - much more easily than you can in a state of normal awareness. It's been used for thousands of years to help people with a wide variety of mental and physical challenges.


Common hypnosis and hypnotherapy misconceptions

Hypnosis is like sleep. It's not. Hypnotized subjects are relaxed, but fully aware and awake.

A hypnotist can control my mind. A hypnotist serves as a guide and facilitates his knowledge to lead your pathway. You're perfectly capable of saying no and you can end the session any time you like.
I'll give up my free will. When you are hypnotized, you don't lose your personality, your personal strength or free will. In hypnosis, you have a heightened state of concentration and focus.

I can't be hypnotized. With a skilled hypnotist, anyone can easily enter into a state of deep hypnosis. Only those who refuse and don't want hypnotherapy can't be hypnotized.

It's dangerous. The health and mental implications are comparable to daydreaming. Medical literature reports that hypnosis affects the body in a similar way as taking an aspirin. The only long term impact is the positive changes applied by your treatment plan.

It doesn't work. Experts agree that it's a powerful way to make rapid, positive changes for yourself.

I won't remember the session. You will not fall asleep. In addition to remembering the session, we also have the session recorded for your security.

I might do something immoral. You will behave as you normally do at all times. You're in control.
I might give up my secrets. Clients only say what they want to say. You won't regret doing or saying anything that you didn't intend on.

I won't wake up. While the hypnotherapist will guide your session, you are able to emerge at any time. You are not truly "asleep" at any point.
